The company doesn't charge setup fees or require long-term contracts beyond the initial three months. They bill monthly and you can cancel with 30 days notice after the minimum period.

How the matching process works

Wishup's onboarding takes about a week. You fill out a detailed questionnaire covering your industry, preferred communication style, typical tasks, and scheduling requirements. They also conduct a 30-minute phone interview to clarify your needs.

The language barrier proved less problematic than anticipated. Wishup screens for English proficiency and most assistants communicate clearly in writing. Phone calls occasionally required patience for accent differences, but video calls generally went smoothly.

Where Wishup falls short

Same-day turnaround becomes challenging with the time difference. If you need something done and returned within a few hours, Wishup won't work unless you plan ahead consistently.

The service also struggles with tasks requiring deep US cultural knowledge. One assistant booked a client dinner at a restaurant that had been closed for six months because they relied on outdated Google information rather than calling directly.

Wishup assistants handle routine business tasks well but aren't positioned for high-level strategic work. Don't expect your person to run board meetings, negotiate contracts, or manage complex stakeholder relationships.

The company's project management tools feel basic compared to services like Fancy Hands or Magic. They use standard platforms (Asana, Trello) but don't provide the workflow optimization that more expensive services offer.

The real cost comparison

At $1,299 monthly, Wishup costs about 40% less than comparable US-based services. But the true comparison gets more complex when you factor in efficiency differences.

Tasks that take a US-based assistant 2 hours might take a Wishup assistant 3 hours due to research time, cultural context gaps, or communication clarifications. The hourly rate advantage shrinks when you account for this efficiency difference.

For routine tasks like calendar management, email filtering, and basic research, the efficiency gap barely exists. For complex projects requiring context switching or strategic thinking, you'll likely need more oversight time.

Who should consider Wishup

Wishup works best for entrepreneurs who need consistent help with routine business operations. If you're drowning in calendar coordination, travel booking, email management, and basic research, their service delivers solid value.

The time zone difference actually helps if you're disciplined about delegating work at the end of your day. You wake up to completed tasks instead of starting from zero.

Wishup makes less sense if you need same-day turnaround regularly, require deep US market knowledge, or want someone who can handle sensitive client relationships independently.

Founders in tech, consulting, or e-commerce seem to get the most value from Wishup's model. The assistant quality varies, but their best people can handle significant workloads once they understand your systems and preferences.
